What are the pros of using AI writing tools?
Should you harness the power of artificial intelligence for your content? Let’s get started by taking a quick look at the benefits of using AI content writing tools.
Expanding your creativity
Whether you’ve written 10 blog posts or 1,000 of them, every writer reaches the dreaded wall known as writer’s block. Fortunately, AI writing tools can be helpful for any writer who’s rapidly running out of ideas. These writing tools can give you ideas for the perfect blog description, killer blog posts, eye-catching headlines, and much more.
Creating content fast
Okay, so what if you don’t have writer’s block but still want to speed things up? AI writing tools can help with that. By typing in a subject, a few sentences, or a paragraph of content, these tools use machine learning to expand on what you write.
I’ve experienced many times when I was stuck on a particular word or paragraph. With a little help from artificial intelligence, I can get a stream of new ideas or words at my fingertips. That might not sound like much, but having new ideas whenever I want them has been a major life-saver.
Less expensive than hiring a new writer
Now more than ever, companies are operating on very tight budgets. Considering that, you might not have enough money to hire a full-time human writer. Fortunately, the monthly cost of an AI writing tool will likely cost less money than paying for a part-time or full-time salary.
Generating content for audiences around the world
Another cool benefit of most AI blogging tools is that they can create content in many languages. If you’re reading this, it’s fair to assume that you speak English. But what if you wanted to write articles for audiences that speak Spanish or another language?
Normally, you would need to find and pay a writer who’s capable of writing content for Spanish-speaking readers. With an AI writer, you can write in Spanish (or many other languages) with a few clicks of your mouse.
What are the cons of using an AI writer?
You learned about the benefits of incorporating AI into your content. But, before you get too excited, there are certain drawbacks associated with AI copywriting tools. Here are the reasons why AI copywriting still can’t beat the human touch.
AI-generated content is far from perfect… for now.
If you expect an AI writing tool to do all the work for you, get ready for disappointment. Instead, it’s better to think of these programs as writing assistants rather than push-button solutions. Part of why this happens involves a long explanation that I’m not qualified to give.
The simple version is that machines can’t replace good, old-fashioned human creativity. These AI tools don’t have the power of context or common sense human brains possess. Instead, most of these programs can only rely on the information you provide.
Not great fact-checkers (especially with newer subjects)
An essential part of content creation involves creating factual information. If you have written anything, you’ve probably had it drilled in your head to make sure you’re basing your writing on facts. One of the biggest drawbacks of AI-generated content is that it’s not always factual.
Using machine learning, these AI tools pull information from all across the internet. As we both know, you should always fact-check information before including it in your content. Since these tools only focus on generating content and not fact-checking, you could wind up with false information in your AI-generated content if you’re not careful.
The dreaded learning curve
AI content writing tools can help you save time. With that said, you’ll first need to learn how to use these tools. Almost each AI writing software brand has its own unique interface and features.
Fortunately, most writers shouldn’t run into too many setbacks while learning how to use AI content writing tools. Plus, most of these tools feature tutorials if you run into any trouble.
Most programs or services cost money
This probably isn’t a total shock to you. Understandably, most companies need to make money. If you want to use most of these tools to write faster, it’s going to cost you.
Certain tools like Jasper and Writesonic offer free trials or packages for new users. I’d highly recommend checking out one of these trial offers or free packages. With a free trial or package, you can get a good idea of whether or not AI content is for you.
Ranging from $20-$50 per month (for single-user packages), most AI writing tools aren’t going to break the bank. If you want to save even more money, many of these AI tools offer discounted yearly packages.
Parting shot
As you can see, there are major pros and cons of AI writing tools. These programs and services can help with writer’s block and add in a few sentences here and there. Don’t expect to push a button and watch these tools generate pages full of top-notch content. But after a little time and effort, your blogging business can get a lot of use from these tools.
